About

I might have spelled “said” as “sed” and “meadow” as “medo,” and I just might have written my twos backward (I liked them that way, Mrs. Smith!), but I was a storyteller even in kindergarten. I have been a storyteller on accident for most of my life, but in college I decided to do it on purpose. I learned to take stories apart like machines, look at the gears and cogs, and see what makes them run well. I took classes in writing fiction, poetry, screenplays, and graphic novel scripts— expanding my repertoire as far as I could.

I am currently a Bible curriculum writer, editor, and project manager at a Christian publishing house I have been with since 2018. On a quiet day, I write and edit Bible lessons for homeschool curriculum. On a not-so-quiet day, I’m putting out metaphorical fires as I manage the homeschool curriculum project. Although I write, edit, and read all day for work, I do still write for fun. I am most excited about writing fantasy fiction or contemporary fiction with fantastic elements. I love to ask “What if?” and let the answer to that question flesh out a whole new world. I plan to use this space to post devotionals, personal essays, short stories, and my thoughts on writing.

I enjoy reading (favorites: C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Diana Wynne Jones, Orson Scott Card) and all sorts of crafts (crochet, knitting, sewing, quilting, embroidery). I’m casually teaching myself Korean in my spare time. I’ve also been known to play video games and go for hikes in the woods.
